About Meital Regev
Award-winning Coffee Artist

From Aerospace Engineer to Coffee Artist

Hi, I’m Meital - yes, I really do paint with coffee.
I wasn’t always a coffee artist.
Once upon a time, I was an aerospace engineer, yep, rockets and all.
Which means precision lives deep in my bones.
Now I engineer surreal worlds with caffeine instead of kerosene.

I love making people smile, tilt their head, and look twice. My paintings balance between imagination and reality, wild animals and wild ideas.

I live and work in Temecula, California, where nature constantly sneaks its way into my art.
My studio is a sunroom on the second floor, filled with sunlight almost all year long.
I watch geese cross lazy summer skies, owls appear at night, and falcons and hawks settle into nearby trees.
Butterflies and egrets land on fresh green grass like they’re part of the composition.

That rhythm finds its way onto the paper.

I create from a mom’s point of view - from a place where observation matters.
When you live with 4 kids, you learn to notice the small things, laugh more often, and see the world with curiosity instead of seriousness.
My kids have an incredible sense of humor and brutal honesty, and their way of seeing life deeply influences my work.

Humor isn’t an extra layer for me - it’s a language.
If my art makes you pause… then smile… then laugh quietly to yourself - I’ve done my job.

Inspiration

I’ve always loved animals.
I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was young, and today animals still appear in my work (and in my studio- We have two Huskies) as personalities.
Expressive, familiar, and a little bit like us.

My art invites you in, it evokes conversation.
Just like Coffee.

Collectors often tell me my work feels calm and joyful, the kind of piece you notice more deeply the longer it lives with you.
It adds warmth to your space and reminds you not to take life too seriously.

If one of my pieces makes you feel lighter, seen, or simply happier when you walk past it - then it already belongs with you.

When I’m not painting, you’ll find me walking with my family and dogs, camping in the woods, or trying to keep my houseplants alive (spoiler: the plants usually win).
I love enjoying a good cup of coffee, sipping my way through imagination-one idea, one brushstroke, one good cup at a time.
If you’re here as a collector, thank you for letting my art live with you, it’s the best kind of connection.
And if you’re here just browsing, I hope something makes you smile, sigh, or think, “I need this on my wall.”

A Journey Across Continents and Careers
Originally from Israel, my family and I moved to the U.S. in 2017, leaving behind everything familiar to embrace new opportunities.
With four young kids in tow and a quirky Israeli accent that stuck with me, we navigated this fresh start together.
Little did I know that this leap of faith would lead me to rediscover a love for art that I inherited from my mother who was a teacher but also, a talented painter who passed away from cancer over a decade ago.
Her creativity lives on in me, shaping every piece I create. We shared a common dream - to make a living out of our art.

Why Coffee Art?

My journey to coffee art was anything but ordinary.
While adjusting to life in a new country, I first explored my creative side by opening two Etsy shops- one for handmade jewelry and another for nursery art.
I then ventured into watercolors before discovering the magic of coffee as a medium
The scent of freshly ground coffee brings me back to nostalgic memories of my parent’s Saturday morning coffee scent☕, and now, it infuses my work with warmth, humor, and a touch of surrealism.
From animals to human expressions, my art balances modern aesthetics with a whimsical twist- a signature style that’s uniquely me.
