About Meital

"I paint with coffee, not just because it smells better than turpentine, but because it lets me brew entire worlds-

some surreal, some deeply real, often both.

My work explores the in-between:

between imagination and nature, humor and depth, wild creatures and wild dreams.

I love creating visual stories that invite people to look twice, smile, and feel something new."

Hello! I'm Meital Regev, an award-winning fine artist best known for my imaginative coffee paintings that blend realism with surreal storytelling.

My work has been exhibited in juried and solo shows across California and is held in private collections around the world.

Previously an aerospace engineer, I bring a precision for fine details and a deep appreciation for structure into my whimsical yet meaningful coffee paintings.

You’ll often find my work at fine art shows and gallery events, where I pair technical finesse with warm, funny, and engaging storytelling.

My artwork is being shipped globally and maintains a strong presence in the California art scene, where I connect with both art lovers and collectors through in-person exhibitions.

Beyond my painting practice, I'm also a mentor and educator, teaching courses like Painting with Coffee and Art to Print, helping artists create multiple income streams and build thriving art businesses.

When I'm not painting with coffee, I find inspiration in my sunroom studio, animals around me, long walks in nature with my family and dogs, camping and, of course, sipping my way through imagination-

one idea, one brushstroke, one good cup at a time.

A Journey Across Continents and Careers

Originally from Israel, my family and I moved to the U.S. in 2017, leaving behind everything familiar to embrace new opportunities.

With four young kids in tow and a quirky Israeli accent that stuck with me, we navigated this fresh start together.

Little did I know that this leap of faith would lead me to rediscover a love for art that I inherited from my mother who was a teacher but also, a talented painter who passed away from cancer over a decade ago.

Her creativity lives on in me, shaping every piece I create. We shared a common dream - to make a living out of our art.

Why Coffee Art?

My journey to coffee art was anything but ordinary.

While adjusting to life in a new country, I first explored my creative side by opening two Etsy shops- one for handmade jewelry and another for nursery art.

I then ventured into watercolors before discovering the magic of coffee as a medium

The scent of freshly ground coffee brings me back to nostalgic memories of my parent’s Saturday morning coffee scent☕, and now, it infuses my work with warmth, humor, and a touch of surrealism.

From animals to human expressions, my art balances modern aesthetics with a whimsical twist—a signature style that’s uniquely me.

Stories Told Through Art

Time and resilience are recurring themes in my work. As a mom to four kids, including a teenage daughter battling a rare bone cancer, I’ve learned to treasure every moment.

Pieces like “Time Flies” (an hourglass filled with ladybugs) "Testing the Water" and my latest creation, “The Time Keeper”, reflect my perspective on making the most of our fleeting moments.

Serving as an officer in the IDF shaped my discipline and creative drive.

I created strength, resistance, and determination in pieces like "Breaking Barriers"

Art, for me, is both a refuge and a way to connect with others through shared stories and laughter.

From Aerospace to Art

People often ask, “How does an aerospace engineer become a coffee artist?” The answer is simple: passion.

In 2021, I opened my third Etsy shop, this time dedicated to coffee paintings, and I instantly fell in love with this unique medium.

Today, I’m the proud owner of three Etsy shops and my own online store, where I share my caffeinated creations with the world.

My engineering background lends itself to the meticulous details in my work, while my love for creativity drives the playful and humorous narratives.
