THE STORY BEHIND 'DANCING IN THE AIR'
 
"Back in my twenties, my cousin, who's an amazing flamenco dancer, managed to convince me to join a beginner's flamenco workshop in Tel Aviv.
 
Now, let me tell you, I've had my fair share of embarrassing moments with dancing. I mean, way back in second grade, I couldn't even handle a month of folk dance class before I called it quits. I realized I had two left feet, quite literally!
 
But despite my doubts and lack of coordination, I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to try something new and exciting.
 
Little did I know that this experience would kickstart my habit of constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone and trying things I never thought I'd dare to do.
 
One of those scary endeavors was actually getting to the workshop itself.
 
Picture this: me, driving all the way to Tel Aviv on my own, with no map or GPS. And let me tell you, the real challenge wasn't the dance steps but finding a parking spot in Tel Aviv! Trust me, that was more intimidating than attempting to dance again.
 
The workshop took place in a cozy little studio tucked away in the basement of an old building, right in the bustling heart of Tel Aviv.
When I got back home, I was brimming with energy and motivation. I tried my best to recreate the dance we had learned, stomping my feet on the floor with all my might (much to the annoyance of the neighbors living downstairs).
 
The workshop remained a sweet memory, like a short and concise trip abroad or a fine bitter chocolate that disappears too quickly.
 
I think the most fascinating thing about this dance is the combination of authenticity, accompanied by sadness..."
